Dodge, dip, dive, duck, dodge!! One thing that puts a lot of people off our beautiful city is Auckland drivers! Are we really that bad? Do we deserve this tag? YES and YES, we are pushy, fast, inpatient, and arrogant.
Now, I understand that city driving is a different kettle of fish to country driving so you do need to adapt and change your driving style to a certain degree. City driving is not everyone’s cup of tea (was that two tea related similes in a row??? Nailed it), those not used to it need to understand Aucklanders are always in a rush, we are the most important person on the road at that point in time, we need to get to our venue before everyone else and we don’t care to wave at each other like on those empty country roads. Once you have grasped that and conceded you will need to adapt slightly to fit in you are away.
